My parenting journey started with the heart. My daughter was born with a rare heart defect & needed open heart surgery at 11 days old. I decided to draw hearts as a way to cope.
The process was so meaningful, and the relationships I've made are so wonderful. I have been motivated to continue supporting the medical community by drawing additional anatomical pieces. And that is how The Anatomical Project was born. I hope that these art pieces will connect with people and their own personal journeys.
The Anatomical Project is an on-going project where, over time, I am going to release additional parts of the body as 100 piece NFT sets. At the conclusion of these sets, I plan to release coloring books of each anatomical body part.
Right now I am working on lungs, kidneys, livers, and brains. Please reach out if you would like to see something specific in the future.
I am a self-taught artist. I have a background in mechanical engineering but needed to become a SAHM when my daughter was born with significant medical complexities. During this time I have rediscovered creating and have challenged myself by self-publishing a number of books.
Historically, I have always been drawn to simple pen & paper when I create. More recently I have been defaulting to my iPad & Apple pencil. Both still have their place depending on my desired outcome and mood.
We've been so loved and supported during our medical journey. It has motivated us to give back, so we are doing occasional NFT art auctions. All of the proceeds for these auctions will do directly to Children's Wisconsin. Follow us on Twitter for auction and donation details!
